A couple of major trading houses in Indonesia decided to lift LLDPE film offers above HDPE film prices, taking advantage of the supply situation.

According to market sources, PT Lotte Chemical Titan Nusantara restarts the LLDPE line in Cilegon, Indonesia on 19 July 2023 after unexpectedly shutting down the unit a week ago due to an unspecified production issue.

The LLDPE line has an annual production output of 200,000 tons/year.

Sources said that the unforeseen production disruption further strain the supply of ready-stock parcels in the domestic market. A couple of major trading houses in Indonesia decided to lift LLDPE film offers above HDPE film prices, taking advantage of the supply situation.

PT Lotte Chemical Titan is also mulling over a 30-day shut down in September for routine maintenance and pipeline laying ahead of the completion of the new cracker.
